The Human League-ish synth rumble meets Kraftwerkian drum machine tsk-tsk-tsk of ‘The People Of The Town’.

Containing four songs left over from the Your Community Hub sessions, Overspill Estates completes the “purple” cycle of releases inspired by the Community Centres that formed the network at the heart of Runcorn New Town.

These four songs were always part of Your Community Hub until a late burst of creativity meant there was no space to fit these on the original album. This late creative rush created the opening tracks from the album A Shared Sense Of Purpose and Rapid Transport Links, which did so much to define the album.

However, these four tracks had been part of Your Community Hub for months before they were dropped. And it felt like too much of a wrench to leave them on the cutting room floor.

The track All Mod Cons was released on the cover disc with Electronic Sound issue 121, with it’s focus on UK grassroots music.

Modern industrialized society is filled with ghosts. Chapman-Fox has found some of them and given them a voice. The results are dramatic and chilling, lasting long after the record ends.
