As I type this, I’m on the eve of my biggest ever gig, performing at the End Of The Road festival in Dorset. I’ll be on the Big Top stage at 1.15pm on Saturday. The biggest audience I’ve ever played in front of before has been about 130. This will be over 10 times that, and frankly, I’m terrified!
This will kick off a bit of a tour to celebrate the release of my third album, Districts, Roads, Open Space on Friday 7th October. The material performed will draw heavily on this album, and albums yet to come. Audiences will be getting a preview of tracks from the upcoming fourth and fifth albums and EP (all of which are in the can!)
After End Of The Road, I rock up at Lancaster University – itself a slab of mid-century semi-brutalism – on Wednesday 21st September to perform with author and broadcaster Bob Fischer.
On Saturday 1st October I will join those lovely lads Field Lines Cartographer and Polypores at the Just Dropped In record store in Fargo Village, Coventry.
That is followed by my first trip to London to play with the incredible Richard Norris at Rich Mix on Bethnal Green Road, London.
On 4th and 5th November, I’m returning to Whitby for the Levitation ’22 supporting The Orb, which, is absolutely blowing my mind. I spent my University days listening to The Orb, and to playing with them 30 years later is rather overwhelming!
For this Castles In Space festival, we will be joined by Dalham, Field Lines Cartographer, Kayla Painter, Jilk, The Twelve Hour Foundation and Band Of Cloud. The line up is staggering, and I can’t wait to be a part of this.
Finishing off my 2022, I will be returning to the big smoke, to play at Corsica Studios with Pye Corner Audio. This will be on Thursday 8th December, courtesy of Baba Yaga’s Hut.
